About

This is my personal blog. Most of my writings will be about family, book reviews, religion, and a few other thoughts every once in a while. I like learning and sharing thoughts on leadership, so there might be a few posts on that, too.

You can reach me via email or follow me on Twitter.

I have been married to my best friend and the love of my life, Sarah, since 2005. We have three beautiful daughters, Abigail Jalynn (2008), Amelia Shae (2010), and Adalia Laine (2012). We live in metro St. Louis, Missouri, and attend Apostolic Pentecostal Church.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, learning from social media, the latest gadgets, enjoying an amazing cup of coffee, playing cards & board games (especially Risk), family time, grilling, volunteering in my church’s music, men’s and marriage ministries, and learning more about the Lord and His people.

In 2001, I began my career at the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) World Headquarters working in their historical center. While there I obtained my bachelor’s in history from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

I switched gears from history and currently have been working in human resources since 2004, when I began working for Bluegrass Lawncare of St. Louis, LLC as their human resources manager. While at Bluegrass I obtained my master’s in business administration from the University of Phoenix and my Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute.

In 2011, I made a switch and became the human resources manager for Smarty Had A Party, the nation’s shindig custodian and awesomest online party store.

In 2014, I transitioned to the City of St. Charles, where I served as the senior human resources generalist. In 2015, I earned my SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management. In 2016, I earned my IPMA-HR Senior Certified Professional (IPMA-SCP) certification from the International Public Management Association for Human Resources.

In 2018, God performed a work and allowed me to have my dream job when I transitioned back to where my career began at the UPCI World Headquarters to serve as the human resources director. It was in 2019 that I earned my Biblical DISC Practitioner certification from Lead Like Jesus. I am thoroughly enjoying working vocationally for the Kingdom of God. The UPCI’s mission is “The whole gospel to the whole world by the whole church.” I am thankful to do my part in helping complete that mission.

I volunteer with the St. Louis affiliate of the National Human Resources Association (NHRA) and each Fall help human resource professionals prepare to sit for their certification exams. I was appointed Secretary of the NHRA-St. Louis affiliate and then was ratified to be President-Elect. My term as President was for the 2015-2016 program year. Since my term as President, I have focused on the fall study group were I have served as Certifications Director since 2018 and have served as the Treasurer since 2020.

In 2020, God blessed me by allowing me the opportunity attain my ministerial license with the UPCI. I am glad to be a part of this organization and count it my honor and privilege to be in the Missouri District UPCI
