It is important for us to learn to laugh.

Learn to Laugh

DAY 3

We are reminded by the Preacher in Ecclesiastes 3 that there is among other things a time to laugh. Sometimes on our journey we will encounter things that will be stressful. We need to learn to laugh through those situations and find joy.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
-- Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 (KJV)

The psalmist said in Psalm 126, that the Lord has done great things for which we are to be glad. Even when things do not seem like they are working out for you, remember that the Lord does great things which are cause to our gladness.

126 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.
The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
-- Psalm 126:1-3 (KJV)

Proverbs 17:22 that a merry heart does good like a medicine. It is okay to be happy. It is okay to laugh a little. It is okay to share a joy filled moment. Don’t forget to take your dose of a merry heart today.

22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
-- Proverbs 17:22 (KJV)

On a practical note, it is important to learn how to laugh about yourself. What can you do when nothing seems to be going your way? Sometimes, you just have to learn to laugh and move on. What can you do when all is right in your world? You have to learn to laugh and enjoy it.
